CCC Baseball Fall In Region 19 Final Four
Cougars end season with 27-17 overall record
Blackwood, NJ -- Cougars fall in Region XIX Final Four, end season 27-17 (22-11)
CCC Baseball (27-17, 22-11) saw its 2026 season come to an end in the Region 19 Final Four after falling to Brookdale (43-12) and Gloucester (40-11) this past weekend.
Sixth-seeded Camden County College opened the tournament on a strong note with two compelling wins over 3rd seeded Cumberland. By virtue of a late surge, Camden prevailed in game one with a dominant 12-2 win. Although game two was a tight affair, the Cougars once again came out on top with a 6-5 victory, propelling them to their fist Region XIX Final Four since 2013.
In the first game of the Final Four, Camden matched up against 2nd seeded Brookdale, looking to continue their hot start to the tournament.
In a thrilling, back and forth match-up, Camden was able to build a 6-4 lead heading into the 6th inning. However, after a half inning in which no runs were brought home for the group, Brookdale was able to capitalize, bringing in two runs of their own to tie the game at 6-6 heading into a pivotal 7th inning.
Although Camden was able to get back on the board in the 7th and bring home a run, Brookdale's offense began to churn as they scored a total of four runs in the side. The Cougars failed to score for the rest of the contest while Brookdale brought home an additional run in the 5th, bringing the final score to 11-7, giving Brookdale the win.
With the game one loss, Camden were then slated to compete against top seeded Gloucester, whom lost their first matchup as well.
Game two only saw 9 combined runs from both team's cross home plate. Gloucester brought a total of seven runs combined in the 3rd and 4th innings respectively. After one run in the 1st, Camden scored one additional run in the 5th inning, bringing the final tally to 7-2, Gloucester.
In totality, CCC's offense was unable to recapture it's momentum as their offense slowed down, while Gloucester's defense would eventually propel them to victory.
Although the outcome wasn't in favor at the end of the year, Camden County College Baseball consistently competed among the top teams in the region, putting together multiple strong stretches during conference action and earning their place.
The pair of losses closed the book on a strong season for CCC Baseball, which finished with an overall record of 27-17 and posted a 22-11 mark in Region 19 play for their first Final Four appearance in over 10 years.
