CAMDEN FALL IN TIGHT CONTEST TO UNION
Cougars improved play in second half not enough
Blackwood, NJ -- Cougars struggle offensively in 1H, fall to Union
CCC MBB (9-5) returned to action after the break on the wrong side of a 69–61 decision against UCNJ (11-2), as the Cougars were unable to overcome a slow start offensively.
Camden and Union went back and forth for most of the 1H until a late surge by the Owls allowed them to create a 31-21 lead going into halftime.
After the break, Camden continued to chip away, cutting into the deficit on several occasions, but struggled to string together enough stops to fully shift the momentum.
Despite the effort, the Cougars were unable to close the gap in the final minutes, falling 61-69.
Istavan Norwood (Dover, DE) and Ayden Copestick (Deptford, NJ) combined for 24 total points, and 9 rebounds.
With the loss, CCC MBB moves to 9–5 on the season. The Cougars will look to regroup quickly as they prepare for the next stretch of region opponents, aiming to build on their strong start and return to the win column.
The Cougars will travel to Essex County College this Saturday, January 10th for their first road-matchup of the second half.
