CAMDEN MBB FALL ON THE ROAD TO BROOKDALE
The loss ends the Cougars 2 game streak
Blackwood, NJ -- MBB drop road game, end streak
CCC MBB (11-7) fought hard on the road Thursday night but came up short against Brookdale Community College (14-6), dropping a 60–49 decision.
In a game defined by gritty defense and physical play, the Cougars could not find a consistent scoring rhythm against Brookdale. Their inability to convert offensively plagued them for large portions of the first half and largely contributed to them heading into halftime at a 10-point deficit.
Unfortunately for Camden, while Brookdale also struggled offensively, they were able to convert timely shots and were clearly comfortable playing on their home floor.
As the second half progressed, the Cougars were finally able to settle in offensively and score 28 total points, 1 shy of Brookdale's total. However, due to the halftime deficit, the Jersey Blues ultimately were able to seal the 11-point home victory.
While the Cougar defense was stout for most of the contest, the lack of offensive punch was the difference in this one.
For CCC, this contest was an opportunity to extend their streak and get retribution against Brookdale, who beat them by on a late second buzzer-beater in their first matchup.
While the final score wasn't what Camden had hoped for, the Cougars will now look to their upcoming 3-game road slate to get back in the win column and regain their positive momentum.
The Cougars (11-7) will travel to Atlantic Cape on Saturday, January 24th. Tip-off will be at 2pm.
