Abbattista earns 250th win at CCC as Cougars top rival
Coach Lou has been HC of the Cougars since 2011
Blackwood, NJ -- Coach Lou Abbattista
Camden County College Head Coach Lou Abbattista reached a milestone that speaks to two decades of dedication to the Cougars Men's Basketball program. With Tuesday night's rivalry victory over Cumberland, Abbattista secured his 250th career win at the helm of Camden County College.
The milestone came in fitting fashion — against a long-standing Garden State Athletic Conference rival — adding another memorable chapter to a career defined by consistency, competitiveness, and commitment to student-athlete success.
Prior to his appointment to Head Coach, Abbattista served five seasons as the program's Associate Head Coach from 2006 to 2011.
Over the course of his tenure, he has built Camden County College into one of the most respected programs in Region XIX hoops.
Known for disciplined play, relentless defense, and a team-first culture, Coach Lou has sent over 60 players to four-year schools and has seen six of his former Assistant Coaches go on to coach at the four-year university level.
"Coach Lou has been the foundation of our program for years," said members of the Camden County athletics community. "Two hundred fifty wins is a testament not only to his knowledge of the game, but to the relationships he builds with his players and the standard he sets every day."
Since taking over in 2011, Abbattista has guided the Cougars through multiple postseason appearances, mentoring countless student-athletes who have continued their careers at four-year institutions. His teams are recognized not just for their success on the court, but for their preparation, resilience, and accountability.
With the season still underway, Abbattista and the Cougars have their sights set on even greater goals. As it stands, the Cougars have won 7 of their last 10 games and currently hold a record of 17-9. They travel to Salem, NJ on Thursday, 2/12 to face off against top-ranked Salem Community College.
Two hundred fifty wins — and counting. Congrats Coach Lou!
