CAMDEN WBB OUTLAST SUSSEX
Lady Cougars improve to 6-6, win third in a row
Blackwood, NJ -- Lady Cougars prevail, extend streak
CCC WBB (6-6) team continued their strong stretch of play, earning a hard-fought victory over Sussex County College (4-9) to secure its third consecutive win.
Playing away from home, the Lady Cougars showed poise and determination, setting the tone early and maintaining control throughout the tight matchup.
CCC WBB executed on both ends of the floor, culminating in a strong 4Q to keep Sussex at bay and claim the victory.
The team's defensive intensity proved to be a key factor, as the Cougars limited scoring opportunities for Sussex, allowing only one double-digit scorer. They forced their opponent into 22 turnovers, some directly leading to points on the other end.
Offensively, they were balanced and well structured. CCC also shared the ball well and registered double-digit assists (20) for the contest. Multiple Lady Cougars contributed to the overall scoring effort as three starters scored in double-digits.
In just her second start of the season, Freshman Guard Tajai Webb (Clementon, NJ) had a strong outing. Webb scored 17 points while also securing 8 rebounds, 3 assists & 3 steals.
Erica Paranzino (Washington Township, NJ) stuffed the stat sheet, adding 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.
Clara Pons de vall Ruiz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) registered a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds), her second of her sophomore campaign.
With the victory, CCC WBB improves its overall record to 6-6, now riding a three-game winning streak as they head into a matchup with local rival, Cumberland.
The Lady Cougars will look to carry this confidence into their last matchup before the winter break and get back over .500 for the season.
Camden CC WBB will host Cumberland this Thursday at a later start time of 7pm.
